Wednesday, March 18, 2015 – 6:00pm to 8:00pm
In conjunction with the Chicago Artists Resource video series Survival Guide, this legal workshop will explore the critical issue of intellectual property protections.
Referencing the Erró: American Comics exhibition currently on display at Mana Contemporary Chicago, Patrice Perkins will examine the 2010 lawsuit filed against Icelandic artist Erró by Tank Girl creator Brian Bolland as a case study in the nuances of copyright law for artists. The workshop will introduce participants to the process of identifying and implementing copyright protection needs for their creative practice and other intellectual property issues.
