being fairly new to the ‘art world’, I don’t feel the sense of nostalgia and loss he describes at its mutation (although I do appreciate the reading of it as a highschooly meritocracy). yay for democritization, on any level– and/but the concern about quality of dialogue I think goes beyond the art world–
